Four Compression

Four Compression Baler for Dense Metal Bales — Intelligent Edge India

Four Compression Baler is applied in thickness less than 6mm steel mills, recycling plants, ferrous &non-ferrous smelting industry to press scrap metal (steel, copper, aluminum, stainless steel, discarded automobiles, etc) into acceptable furnace charges in shapes of cuboids, cylinders & octagons. Suitable for scrap processing and distribution center (base), scrap car dismantling and remanufacturing, steel and nonferrous metals industry, etc.

A four compression baler compresses material from four directions rather than the usual three. The additional compression stroke produces a tighter and more uniform bale from the same input material, which is worth paying for in specific commercial situations and not in others.

When the extra compression pays

Higher density converts directly into money in two cases:

  • Freight. If you transport bales any meaningful distance, you are paying to move volume. Denser bales mean more tonnes on the same truck and fewer trips for the same tonnage
  • Mill specification. Where a buying mill sets a minimum bale density, meeting it is the difference between the quoted price and a discounted one

If you sell locally and your buyer does not specify density, a three compression machine may serve you just as well for less capital. It is worth doing that arithmetic before specifying.

What it presses

Scrap metal below 6mm thickness, including steel, copper, aluminium, stainless steel and material from discarded automobiles, compressed into acceptable furnace charges. Used across steel mills, recycling plants and the ferrous and non ferrous smelting industry.

Bale shapes

Cuboid, cylindrical and octagonal, depending on the chamber configuration.

Features

  • Hydraulic drive with PLC control
  • Inclined axial piston pumps for high reliability and high density output
  • Wear resistant lining plates protecting the compression chamber
  • Designed for operation with minimum maintenance

Where it is installed

  • Steel mills and recycling plants
  • Ferrous and non ferrous smelting industry
  • Scrap processing and distribution centres
  • Scrap car dismantling and remanufacturing units

Uniformity as well as density

The four direction cycle does more than raise peak density. It produces a more uniform bale, which means the density you quote is the density on every bale rather than an average across a load. For anyone selling to a specification, consistency is often worth more than the headline number, because it removes the risk of a rejected or rerated consignment.

Specifying a machine

Press force, chamber size and cycle time are selected against your material, your target bale dimensions and your throughput. Send us the density your buyer requires and the tonnage you process, and we will confirm whether a four compression machine is the right investment or whether a simpler configuration will meet the same specification.
