It presses loose metal scrap such as iron, cast iron, copper and aluminium chips and turnings into round high density briquettes that are convenient to handle, store and melt.
Loose turnings have a huge surface area, so a large share burns off in the furnace. Briquetting increases density dramatically, which improves melting yield, reduces burn loss and makes handling and storage far easier.
Compression squeezes out a significant part of the residual coolant, which can be collected and reused. That recovery is often a meaningful part of the payback on the machine.
PLC control gives fully automatic operation with an automatic discharge system. The hydraulic driven cylinders run stable and vibration free, and the design uses our composite cylinder patent technology.
Horizontal systems generally suit higher continuous throughput, while vertical systems need a simpler foundation and less floor space. The decision usually comes down to available space and how many tonnes per shift you generate.
