Multi Blade Shear
Heavy-duty Scrap Shears is a large scrap processing equipment which has been designed to cut flat steel into small peices. This machine is designed to have high structural strength for long life. This machine has been very popular for cutting flat steel and structural steel like pipes, angles, chennels etc.
A multi blade shear cuts flat steel into small pieces in a single stroke. Instead of one blade making one cut, several blades work simultaneously, so a long section is reduced to multiple sized pieces without being repositioned and fed again for each cut.
What it cuts
The machine has become popular for flat steel and structural steel including pipes, angles and channels, where consistent short cut lengths are required. It is designed with high structural strength for long life under the repetitive loading that continuous cutting produces.
Where the productivity gain comes from
On a conventional shear, a six metre structural section has to be fed, cut, advanced, cut again and so on. Handling time between cuts is often longer than the cutting itself. A multi blade shear reduces that same section in one stroke, which on long material translates directly into a large increase in tonnes per hour from the same crew.
It also produces a more consistent piece size, which matters if your buyer specifies charge dimensions or if the output feeds a furnace with a fixed charging arrangement.
Output density
The machine applies high compression after shearing, and side compression is available as an option where higher density is required for transport or to meet a mill specification.
Features
- Wide press box suitable for multiple varieties of scrap
- High compression after shearing, with side compression available as an option
- PLC operation, automated controls and remote operation
- Automatic operator less running
- Large flow logic valves with independent filtering and cooling
- Low electricity consumption per tonne of steel processed
- Automatic lubrication and sensors for movement automation
Hydraulic reliability
Independent filtering and cooling on the hydraulic circuit keeps oil temperature and cleanliness within range through a full shift. On a machine designed for repetitive high cycle work, that is what separates rated output from actual output.
When a multi blade shear is the right choice
Choose it where your material is predominantly flat and structural steel arriving in long lengths, and where you cut the same profiles repeatedly. If your incoming material is mixed heavy melting scrap of unpredictable shape, a straight bed or gantry shear will handle it better. If it is light sheet and vehicle shells, a baler shear will give you better output density. The multi blade shear is a specialist machine and it is at its best on the work it was designed for.
